The Postal Service has been formally established and today launches its official website at postal.gov.vin. From Monday 7 September 2026 it will collect, sort and deliver mail across the Network under a single tariff.

About the Postal Service

The Postal Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network collects, sorts and delivers letters and parcels across the Velocity Interoperability Network, operates post offices and counters at the principal sites and maintains the Network postcode scheme.

It provides a single tariff for all mail posted within the Network, publishes the delivery standards it undertakes to meet, and offers account posting, bulk mail and post office boxes to member organisations.

Milestones

  1. 6 September 2026

    Postal Service established

    Responsibility for the collection, sorting and delivery of mail, for post offices at the principal sites and for the Network postcode scheme.

  2. 6 September 2026

    postal.gov.vin launched

    The register of post offices, the tariff, the delivery standards and guidance on sending mail published on the official website.

  3. 7 September 2026

    Collections and deliveries begin

    Twelve post offices and counters open, and the first collections from the Service's 84 post boxes are made under the single tariff.

  4. Forthcoming

    Quarterly reporting and parcel lockers

    The first report of performance against the delivery standards, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, and the installation of parcel lockers at the principal sites will be announced in the Newsroom.
