Press Release
Postal Service Confirms Opening of Twelve Post Offices and Counters
Office of the Spokesperson

The Postal Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network today confirmed the opening arrangements for its first twelve post offices and counters. A post office at each of the six principal sites of the Network, and a counter at a second location at each site, open on Monday 7 September 2026. The register of offices, their opening hours and the services available at each are set out on the Finding a Post Office page of this site.
Every post office accepts letters and parcels at the counter, sells postage, holds items for collection and offers signed-for, tracked and insured services. The post offices at Central Exchange and Westbrook also provide a business counter for account customers and a parcel depot. Counters accept letters and small parcels, sell postage and hold items for collection, but do not provide the business, insurance or post office box services of a full post office.
The Service's 84 post boxes, installed during the transition period, are emptied once each working day, and twice daily at the principal sites. Collection times are shown on each box and are set out on the Delivery Standards and Tracking page of this site. Enquiries about the register may be sent to contact@postal.gov.vin.
